Handwoven Cotton Towel - SMALL / L50.5cm x W38.5cm

A versatile towel crafted by textile artist Noriko Matsumoto. The warp threads use organic cotton yarn from Pristine, while the weft threads feature Gara spinning yarn produced in Ichinomiya City. Gara spinning yarn, created on old-fashioned spinning machines, is spun slowly to incorporate air, resulting in a soft and distinctive texture. The dye used is Yaguruma (natural indigo), a traditional natural dye mentioned in Edo-period documents. Its deep, rich color is part of its charm.

Beyond its practicality as a towel, it can also serve as a placemat or table centerpiece.
