Junzo Maekawa
Junzo Maekawa is a 4th generation potter at his family workshop Maekawa Seito in Tokoname, one of Japans 6 ancient pottery regions. While the workshop produces tableware and large scale ceramic vessels, Maekawa's personal work centers around the production tea ware for both Japanese and Chinese tea traditions. Maekawa's pottery is made using the iron-rich soil of Tokoname and the red clay that is appreciated for the production of teapots that are said to brew the finest tasting tea.

2000: Graduated from Department of Transportation Mechanics, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Meijo University
2004: Graduated from Kyoto Traditional Crafts College
2004: Joined Akazu pottery Matsuyama Ceramics Co., Ltd.
2008: Joined the family ceramics business, Maekawa Pottery

Present: Producing primarily tea related wares at the family workshop in Tokoname.
