White Flat Plate (Kannyu) / Ø25cm x H1.5cm
Flat white plate with a delicate a delicate network of fine lines (Kannyu) covering the surface of his vessel. While the other white pottery in the series will develop the kannyu pattern with age and use, these plate have the pattern to begin with. (**see second image)
Atsushi Funakushi has been producing functional wheel-thrown tableware at his studio in Kasama City since 2009. A fondness for old objects and antique wares shows its influence on his vessels and objects. The majority of his work is produced in shades of black, white and silver.

1979 Born in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
2003 Apprenticed with potter Yoshiki Sakai.
2008 Completed the glazing course at Ibaraki Ceramics Training Center.
2009 Established an independent workshop / kiln in Kasama City.
